The Healer

IMG_3675

Tell me you are seeking a healer
And I will send you back to yourself
The healer within me
Is merely a stage
Upon it, a teacher
Only orchestrating the divine meeting
Of the healer within you
Do not call me a healer
Unless you can tell me
How to bottle up this forest air
And place it in your every breath
Or take the peace and calm oozing from the earth
And ground your feet in it
Or take this belly laughter
The one that splits at each side
Condense it into a capsule
So when the sun peaks each morning
You can get high off its levity
Do not call me a healer
Until you can tell me
How to slit your soul right along your spine
Letting the grudge-laden heaviness spill out into the earth
And lace you up with every story of forgiveness
Or take every destructive word
The ones that fill the phrases that string around your mind each night
Cut them loose
While I fill the emptiness with lullabies of kinder tomorrows
Or allow for the density weighing on your heart
To pool the corners of your eyes
Till those salty tears fall into your ears
Each one telling the sweetest story of letting go
I know the comfort you feel in the dark
I can still hear the echoes
From the years it billowed your name
But the sun speaks in love ready to teach you
I touch the parts of you covered and contracted
Hoping the wisdom of your cells
Are listening to the wisdom in my hands
And that they speak in the same tongues
That the healer in me speaks the same wisdom
As the healer in you
Do not call me a healer
Until I’ve introduced you to the healer within
